Program Director’s
Evaluation of Resident
INSTRUCTIONS
Go to the ACOOG website (http://acoog.org).
From the menu, select Education, then Residency Program to reach the ACOOGnet page.
On the ACOOGnet page, under Resident Online Evaluations, select Program Directors.  Login with your Program Director username and password.

You will see a list of your residents.  The right-most column is titled Competency Eval Status.  Click on a resident’s Competency Eval Status to view or edit their evaluation.

From this screen, you will evaluate this resident’s performance in each of the seven core competencies by clicking the Evaluate button.

You will evaluate each competency one at a time.  The number under Status represents the percentage of completion.  100 means that evaluation item is completed. Each competency will have 2 or 3 Required Elements.  Each Required Element has check boxes on the left to indicate which methods, outcomes, or demonstrations of compliance this resident utilized, check boxes on the right that indicate the evaluation tool(s) used to document methods, outcomes, or demonstrations of compliance, and a rating of the resident’s performance on this element.  Note: if you mark a resident as Deficient, you MUST enter a comment to justify that rating.
When you finish evaluating all required elements, click the Save Work button.

Review the summary of your competency evaluation for this resident.  If you need to make further changes to this evaluation, click Edit.  If you are satisfied with this evaluation, click Competency List to return to the list of core competencies.
Continue evaluating each competency in this manner until you have a status of 100% for each.

Click Edit to complete the Trainee Assessment.

You must answer each Trainee Assessment question and enter a final comment in the large comment box at the end of this form.  Click the Save Assessment button when you are finished.
Review the summary of the Trainee Assessment.  If you need to make further changes to this evaluation, click Edit.  If you are satisfied with this assessment, click Competency List to return to the list of core competencies.
When all evaluation items have a status of 100%, the Report Status will change from a number to the word Ready with a check box and a Sign button.  If you are completely finished with this resident’s evaluation, check the box to certify the report is complete and accurate and click the Sign button.  You will be unable to make further changes to this resident’s evaluation after you certify and sign it, so be sure you are completely finished before taking this step.
Follow the same steps for the remaining residents in your program.
